Cambodian NA President Attends State Banquet in Honor of Philippine President Marcos Jr.

Phnom Penh, 8 September 2025 — Samdech Maha Rathasapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Monday evening attended a State Banquet hosted by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, and Samdech Kittipritthbandit, in honor of His Excellency Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, at the Peace Palace.

President Marcos Jr.’s visit to Cambodia underscores the strong bonds of friendship between the two nations. Earlier in the day, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and President Marcos Jr. presided over the signing of three key agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation. These included: an amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Police of Cambodia and the National Police of the Philippines on cooperation in combating transnational crime; an MoU between Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Philippines’ Commission on Higher Education on higher education cooperation; and an Air Transport Services Agreement between the two countries.

At the banquet, speaking on behalf of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his great pleasure in welcoming President Marcos Jr., the First Lady, and the high-level Philippine delegation. He congratulated the Government and people of the Philippines on their remarkable socio-economic achievements and reaffirmed Cambodia’s appreciation of the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Samdech Techo stressed that Cambodia and the Philippines have enjoyed close cooperation for decades at bilateral, regional, and international levels, rooted in mutual trust, respect, and a shared commitment to peace, stability, and development.
