Phnom Penh, 9 September 2025 — Samdech Maha Rathasapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, on Tuesday morning chaired a review meeting at the National Assembly Palace to assess preparations for the Cambodian parliamentary delegation’s participation in the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46), to be held later this month in Malaysia.
The meeting was attended by delegation members representing various committees — including Political Matters, Economic Matters, Social Matters, Joint Communiqué, Organizational Matters, the Meeting of Women Parliamentarians (WAIPA), and the Meeting of Young Parliamentarians (YPA).
The delegation members reported on their progress, such as preparing documents and reviewing draft resolutions that were already submitted to the AIPA Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia, scheduled for discussion at the General Assembly.
Senior officials of the Secretariat-General also briefed the meeting on achievements to date, including substantive preparations and coordination with the AIPA Secretariat and the host parliament, aimed at ensuring smooth participation and successful outcomes for the nation and its people.
Samdech Khuon Sudary expressed deep appreciation to the MPs and Secretariat-General leadership for their active efforts, noting that preparations were nearly complete in both substance and composition.
She voiced strong confidence that Cambodia’s participation in AIPA-46 would bring tangible benefits to the country and its citizens, particularly by contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
Samdech Khuon Sudary will lead the high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation to the 46th AIPA General Assembly in Malaysia from 16 to 22 September 2025.
Cambodia’s presence at AIPA-46 will not only reinforce parliamentary mechanisms and multilateralism but also expand friendship and cooperation with AIPA member states, observer countries, and development partners, bringing benefits in economic, trade, social, cultural, and tourism sectors, while fostering closer people-to-people ties across the region and beyond.
