Phnom Penh, 21 October 2025 — H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Deputy Secretary-General and Chairman of the Advisory Council of the National Assembly of Cambodia, delivered a lecture on “Psychological Defense in the Face of Thai Aggression” to Secretariat-General officials on Tuesday morning at the National Assembly Palace.
The session was attended by around 100 officials, including Deputy Director-Generals, Directors, Deputy Directors, and officers from several departments of the Secretariat-General.
During the session, H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith explained that psychological defense involves maintaining composure, avoiding tension and emotional disturbance, and preserving confidence in the government. He stressed the importance of strengthening mental resilience to prevent discouragement, enabling officials to perform their duties effectively for the benefit of both individuals and society.
Dr. Chheang Vannarith highlighted that the lecture aimed to equip staff with strategies to navigate challenging situations. Key objectives of psychological defense included fostering shared values and a collective national consciousness, ensuring timely and reliable communication from leadership, promoting critical thinking and media literacy, reducing internal divisions that could be exploited by adversaries, and encouraging society to remain vigilant and calm under pressure.
The lecture provided officials with practical guidance on enhancing mental preparedness, promoting unity, and supporting national resilience during times of political and social challenges.
