Phnom Penh, 20 October 2025 — Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation on an official and friendly visit to Hungary, followed by participation in the 8th edition of the Paris Peace Forum in France later this month.

The four-day official visit to Hungary, taking place from 24 to 28 October 2025 at the invitation of Hon. László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, aims to further strengthen and deepen the 69-year diplomatic relations, long-standing friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two nations.

During the visit, Samdech Khuon Sudary will pay courtesy calls and hold bilateral discussions with Hungarian leaders, including Speaker László Kövér. Both sides are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two National Assemblies and their respective Secretariats-General to enhance parliamentary cooperation, exchange of experience, and institutional partnership.

In addition, Samdech President will meet with Cambodian students pursuing higher education in Hungary to extend words of encouragement, as well as visit selected industrial, tourism, and cultural sites aimed at promoting people-to-people connectivity, cultural exchange, tourism, trade, and investment cooperation between Cambodia and Hungary.

Following the conclusion of the Hungary visit, Samdech Khuon Sudary will proceed to France to attend the 8th Paris Peace Forum, which will be convened in Paris from 29–30 October 2025.

As part of the Forum’s high-level programme, Samdech Khuon Sudary has been invited to deliver remarks in three key sessions:

 1. A session on the theme “New Coalitions for Peace, People, and the Planet”;

 2. A roundtable exclusively for Members of Parliament, entitled “Facing the Fault Lines: Sovereignty in a Fragmenting World Order”; and

 3. A panel discussion titled “Fault Lines and Frontlines: Asia’s Shifting Geopolitics.”

The Paris Peace Forum, an annual gathering of world leaders, legislators, civil society, and international organizations, provides a platform to foster dialogue and cooperation in addressing global challenges.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Samdech Khuon Sudary is expected to hold bilateral meetings with parliamentary leaders and development partners, including Hon. Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the National Assembly of the French Republic, to further strengthen inter-parliamentary relations and promote multilateral collaboration.

This mission underscores Cambodia’s proactive engagement in parliamentary diplomacy, reflecting the National Assembly’s commitment to advancing national interests, fostering international friendship, and contributing to global peace and sustainable development.
