National Assembly Standing Committee Accepts Four Government-Proposed Draft Laws for Parliamentary Review

Phnom Penh, 2 July 2026 — The Standing Committee of the National Assembly, chaired by Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, convened on Thursday morning to deliberate on and approve several agenda items.
 
During the meeting, the Standing Committee approved the receipt of four draft laws submitted by the Royal Government for parliamentary review.
 
The four draft laws are:

1. The draft law on the approval of the Kingdom of Cambodia’s accession as a State Party to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters Specific to Aircraft Equipment.
 
2. The draft law on the approval of the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Mutual Recognition Arrangements.
 
3. The draft law on the approval of the ASEAN Sectoral Mutual Recognition Arrangement for Building and Construction Materials.
 
4. The draft law on the approval of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Type Approval for Automotive Products.
 
The Standing Committee assigned the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information to examine and study the four draft laws in cooperation with the Commission on Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Posts, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction.
 
Upon completion of their review, the two commissions will submit their report and recommendations to the Standing Committee for further consideration in accordance with the National Assembly's legislative procedures.
