The meeting brought together members of the National Assembly's Commission 8, senior officials of the Secretariat-General, and relevant technical officials to review progress and coordinate the remaining preparations for the regional parliamentary forum.

H.E. Yos Phanita briefed the meeting on the draft Phnom Penh Communiqué, themed "Universal Health Coverage in the Era of Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence," which is expected to be considered by parliamentarians from around 17 Asia-Pacific countries.

Participants also reviewed arrangements for a field visit to Ang Phnom Touch Health Center and Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital in Kampot Province, where delegates will observe Cambodia's primary healthcare services and the development of local health facilities.

Concluding the meeting, H.E. Lork Kheng commended the Secretariat-General and all relevant officials for their dedication and urged the working groups to maintain close coordination, complete the remaining tasks on schedule, and uphold international standards to ensure the successful hosting of the forum.

The 9th APPF-GH will be officially opened on 11 August 2026 at the National Assembly Palace under the presidency of Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, bringing together parliamentarians, health leaders, and international experts from across the Asia-Pacific region to advance universal health coverage.
